ABOUT CHIRU

OUR HISTORY
CHIRU BIKES, INTREPID AND ADVENTUROUS BY NATURE.
Closely linked to the sporting activities of Pierre Arnaud Le Magnan, founder of Chiru Bikes, the Chiru brand is inspired by the Chiru or Tchirou. This small antelope lives in an arid, inhospitable environment at altitudes of between 3,700 and 5,500 meters on the Tibetan plateau north of the Himalayas. Its extreme living conditions and remarkable ability to adapt to its environment inspired our brand, which naturally took its name from it!
20 YEARS OF EXPERTISE
For 20 years now, Pierre-Arnaud has been concocting frames for surveying the furthest corners of the planet. 20 years of surpassing oneself and meticulous fine-tuning. Chiru is a brand of ultra-demanding enthusiast-engineers, whose aim is to let no detail pollute an adventure. Everything must be fluid, comfortable and efficient. Every detail is designed to provide ultimate comfort and pleasure during your two-wheeled adventure. Each need is scrupulously dissected in order to formulate an appropriate response. Designed for a specific race, tested in real-life conditions and perfected down to the smallest detail: that’s what makes Chiru bicycle frames unique.
FULL-SCALE TESTS ON THE WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS RACES
Chiru bikes are born from the dream of a race or a trail across a continent, and are tested in real-life conditions! They’re designed to take on passes and summits, to cover any terrain, to surpass themselves without limits and to win!
The Chiru Kegeti was developed for the Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan (1,800km and a mountain pass at 4,000m!). Divider Pinion has distinguished itself on the French Divide (2200 km). Kunlun, the roady, has been meticulously designed to tackle the Transcontinental Race (6000 km)…
Chiru bikes are born from a dream, and the Chiru Brigade makes sure they live up to their promise before making them available to bikepacking enthusiasts.
THE FOUNDER: PIERRE-ARNAUD LE MAGNAN
Pierre-Arnaud loves adventure above all else. From an early age, this top-level sportsman has been building the equipment that enables him to push himself beyond his limits and into the unknown. This state of mind, which began in his parents’ garage where, at the age of 13, he designed and built a custom sailboard, has become a way of life. Naturally, he became an engineer in materials and industrial design. As a globe trotter, he was soon involved in ADVENTURE RACING, then the dreaded X-Terra races, and from then on designed bikes for these truly demanding events. He finally settled in Asia and began his professional career working for a French mechanical engineering company. He then held various positions in the industrial engineering sector before setting up Chiru Bikes and devoting himself body and soul to his passion for ultra-cycling.
